We are looking for a motivated and analytical Junior Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst, who will
identify, monitor and assess relevant threat actors, analyze their tactics, techniques and procedures, and transform publicly available information into actionable intelligence. You will support operational and tactical security activities, improve threat intelligence processes and collaborate with stakeholders across Deutsche Telekom group.
Responsibilities
- Identify, monitor and assess relevant threat actors, threat groups and campaigns by analyzing publicly available information.
- Research and evaluate threat actors’ tactics, techniques and procedures and map them to established frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
- Prepare technical threat intelligence reports, incident-related notifications, assessments and other security-relevant communications.
- Share relevant threat information and analytical findings with other colleagues and teams.
- Develop tactical and operational measures to limit or minimize the potential impact of cyber threats.
- Advise stakeholders on threat-related risks and appropriate mitigation measures.
- Contribute to the design, planning, improvement and automation of threat intelligence processes and systems.
- Coordinate topic-specific working groups and contribute to projects, task forces and cross-functional initiatives.
- Maintain clear and structured documentation of analytical findings, sources and intelligence assessments.
- Continuously monitor developments in the cyber threat landscape and assess their relevance to the organization.
Job Requirements
- A degree, vocational qualification or comparable practical experience in cyber security, information technology, intelligence studies or a related field.
- A strong interest in cyber threat intelligence, threat actor behavior and the wider cyber threat landscape.
- Good knowledge of common cyber threats, attack techniques, vulnerabilities and security concepts.
- An understanding of the cyber threat intelligence lifecycle and intelligence-led security.
- Experience researching, validating, correlating and assessing information from publicly available sources.
- Familiarity with open-source intelligence methodologies and structured online research.
- Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and TTP-based threat analysis.
- The ability to turn complex technical information into clear, concise and actionable intelligence.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to assess source reliability and distinguish facts from assumptions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A structured, independent and responsible way of working.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with security specialists, technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Proficiency in English. Knowledge of German is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge or practical experience in several of the following areas is desirable:
- Threat intelligence platforms
- Security information and event management systems
- Security orchestration and automation
- Endpoint detection and response
- Indicators of compromise and incident-related threat analysis
- Malware, phishing, vulnerability and cybercrime research
- Intelligence report writing and analytical methodologies
- Python, PowerShell or similar scripting languages
- APIs, data processing and workflow automation
- Structured threat intelligence formats such as STIX and TAXII
- SIEM, SOAR, EDR or other security operations technologies
- Data visualization and dashboarding
- Basic understanding of network security, operating systems and cloud environment
