We’re looking for an R&D Team Lead to take technical and people leadership over one of our backend teams. In this role, you’ll combine hands-on backend engineering with leading, mentoring, and growing a small team of engineers, while shaping the architecture of systems that protect millions of users worldwide.

Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of backend services and APIs
- Own technical decisions related to architecture, scalability, performance, and security
- Stay hands-on and actively contribute to the codebase
- Lead, mentor, and support a backend team of 4 - 6 engineers
- Ensure high-quality and timely delivery through planning and prioritization
- Review code and enforce engineering standards and best practices
- Collaborate closely with Product, and other engineering teams
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and career development of junior team members
Requirements
- Strong experience as a Senior Backend Engineer with leadership exposure
- Proven ability to lead or mentor engineers
- Solid backend development skills (e.g. Python, Go, Java, Node.js)
- Experience with API design and distributed / microservices architectures
- Good understanding of cloud-based production environments
Nice to have
- Experience in a scale-up or fast-growing product company
- Background in cybersecurity, networking, or large-scale systems
- Experience with CI/CD, observability, and incident response
- Interest in shaping engineering processes and long-term architecture
