Networks & Services International (NWI) develops, plans, builds and operates the international network infrastructure of the Deutsche Telekom Group and produces Internet carriers and wholesale services for Telekom Global Carriers.
We operate and develop telecommunications services assurance / monitoring platforms and ensure the best quality of our international voice and mobile platforms to provide our customers with the best customer experience.

We are seeking a skilled System Engineer specialized in telecommunications service assurance / Monitoring Systems to join our Service Quality Monitoring (SQM) squad. You will be part of a team responsible for the development, operations and maintenance of a service assurance / monitoring system from the vendor Anritsu and called Anritsu Masterclaw. The system is a probe-based monitoring system used for the service assurance of international voice and mobile services. Those services include international voice calls, roaming enablement and roaming. The platform is used by our voice and signaling engineers as well as network operation centers (NOCs) of Deutsche Telekom international voice and mobile services.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications and hands-on experience with service assurance / network monitoring systems. Data analytics skills are a plus.
What you will do
As part of a system admin and incident management team, you will have the following responsibilities:
- System admin
- System Incident management
- System operation
- System monitoring
- Contribution to design and platform evolution
- Application support specialist:
- Interaction with clients and vendors to resolve and optimize issues
- Handling of platform users requests
- Support platform users in building and maintaining dashboards and reports for business intelligence
- Provide consultancy on monitoring integration and monitoring data representation tasks
Required knowledge and skills
You have a degree in engineering or comparable vocational training with a corresponding field of study or subject-specific additional training or several years of professional experience in Telecommunication sector and the field of networks monitoring.
Furthermore, you are characterized by detailed company-specific knowledge and expert knowledge and skills:
- 5+ years of experience in Telecommunications, networks monitoring, performance management
- Strong knowledge of operator network infrastructure
- Proficiency in Unix / Linux
- Experience with Redhat
- Experience with Kubernetes welcome
- Programming skills (python)
- Scripting and automation skills
- Familiarity with voice and signaling protocols is welcome
- Experience with database management and data analysis tools
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication abilities to interact with clients and team members
- Knowledge of performance KPIs analysis techniques
- Familiarity with data visualization tools welcome (e.g.,Tableau, Grafana, Kibana, PowerBI)
- Language skills: strong English language skills is a must (reading/writing/conversation), German language skills is a strong plus
