Networks & Services International (NWI) develops, plans, builds and operates the international network infrastructure of the Deutsche Telekom Group and produces Internet carriers and wholesale services for Telekom Global Carriers. We operate and develop telecommunications services assurance / monitoring platforms and ensure the best quality of our international voice and mobile platforms to provide our customers with the best customer experience.

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer specialized in technologies like Kubernetes, DevOps, DevSecOps to join our Service Quality Monitoring (SQM) squad. You will be part of a team responsible for the development, operations and maintenance of a service assurance / monitoring system in the domain of international voice and mobile services. Our customers are voice, mobile, IoT engineers as well as network operation centers (NOCs) of Deutsche Telekom international units. We need you to support the migration of our existing platform to a containerized environment. You will work in collaboration with our vendors and suppliers. We are looking for a candidate with hands-on experience with Kubernetes or similar technologies. Experience in highly regulated sectors such as telecommunications, energy, finance is welcome.
What you will do
As part of our team, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Support Migration from virtualized to Kubernetes environment
- Ensure security compliance
- Vendor management and requirements analyses
- Contribution to design and platform evolution
- Identify possibilities of additional automation for faster time-to-market
Required knowledge and skills
You have a degree in engineering and/or several years of professional experience in IT or telecommunications domains.
Furthermore, you are characterized by detailed company-specific knowledge and expert knowledge and skills:
- 3+ years of Kubernetes experience
- Good knowledge in networks
- Good knowledge in security best practice (e.g., hardening of container images, systems protection, Identity and access management)
- Programming/Scripting and automation skills
- Strong communication abilities to interact with clients, vendors, and team members
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience with Unix / Linux is a plus
- Experience with database management is welcome
- Familiarity with data visualization tools is also welcome (e.g.,Tableau, Grafana, Kibana, PowerBI)
- Language skills: strong English language skills is a must (reading/writing/conversation), German language skills is a strong plus
