The Tribe E2E Lab and Services (T-ELS) is offering to DevOps Squads within Services and Platforms (the superior unit) an Observability Platform, which helps to understand the underlying cause of an incident or a problem. The three pillars of Observability are logs, metrics and traces. Our Observability Platform is based mainly on ELK stack.

We are looking for a committed and motivated colleague to join our squad as a Data Engineer. This position is full-time and based in Prague.

What you will do

  • Realize onboarding of internal systems/applications into ELK ecosystem.
  • Build ingest data pipelines (based on Elastic Tools, Kafka or Python).
  • Automate the onboarding process and establish self-services with Gitlab, Gitlab Runners, Terraform.
  • Realize Data Analytics use cases from understanding of requirements to implementation in live network.
  • Evaluate system/application needs and objectives: What is the problem to be solved, where is the relevant data.
  • Collaborate with other groups (internal customer, ELK stack operation, security, connectivity).
  • Build data analytics pipelines and interpret trends and patterns.
  • Build algorithms and prototypes (e.g. based on sample data).
  • Combine raw information from different sources.

What you should know or want to learn

  • Good knowledge of ELK stack and Elastic Tools, Python and Kafka.
  • Experience with Gitlab, Gitlab Runners, Terraform.
  • Create visualizations (Kibana).
  • Write Kibana Plugins (NodeJS, ReactJS).
  • Deployment in Kubernetes environment.
  • Familiarity with working in agile team (kanban, scrumban methodologies).
  • English s a must and German is strong advantage, because we are an international team.
  • International travel expectancy is 10%.
